Rahr Malting Co. produces and distributes malt to customers around the world. Rahr Malting’s malt production plants are strategically located in Shakopee, Minnesota and Alix, Alberta, Canada. The malting operations are supported by our barley procurement and distribution facility in Taft, North Dakota.

Gambrinus Malting was founded in Armstrong, BC, in 1992 with a vision to combine traditional European-influenced malting practices with the finest barley, wheat, and rye. Our malt was part of the craft brewing movement from its inception, and continues to be a key ingredient in the best craft ales, lagers, and spirits today.

Koda Energy is an environmentally friendly energy project owned and operated by Rahr Corporation. Using a suspension boiler for maximum efficiency to burn only renewable products, it runs extremely efficient. Products burned in Koda Energy are primarily agricultural byproducts and clean wood residues. This biomass energy generation provides electrical and thermal energy to Rahr - replacing the use of natural gas, and also provides additional renewable electricity to Xcel Energy to help fulfill their renewable energy requirements.
