October 23rd was the 7th annual Bioenergy Day, a day to celebrate the use of bioenergy and the numerous benefits it has on local, state, and national levels. Koda Energy joined in the celebration with tours, presentations, and food for attendees visiting the facilities. Koda Energy uses 100% natural biomass material, runs 24/7, and has a four pole generator with a rated capacity of 23.4 MWh, which is “enough electricity for ~25,000 homes.” Koda also provides 100% of the energy consumed by Rahr Malting Company- electricity and heat.
Attendees sat down to have a hamburger and beer during the festivities.
Visitors got to chat with local businesses that focus on outreach, recycling, energy, and the environment.
Examples of what Koda Energy uses in their biomass material were available.
